Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 2026
1. Who we are
These terms are between you and Christian Hood-Boyce (a sole trader), trading as RightWords ("we", "us", "our"). By using RightWords you are contracting with Christian Hood-Boyce (a sole trader).
RightWords is a document-preparation service that helps employees in the UK organise workplace concerns and prepare professional correspondence — such as grievance letters, appeals and requests. We provide document preparation and general information only. We are not a law firm, do not provide legal advice or representation, and do not determine whether unlawful conduct has occurred. For advice about your specific situation you should consult a qualified professional, Acas, or Citizens Advice.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By continuing to use the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old (or otherwise of legal age) to create an account and make a purchase.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. What you may not do
You must not misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
- Use the service for anything unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive, including spam.
- Submit content that infringes anyone else's intellectual property or other rights.
- Interfere with the security or operation of the service — including introducing malware, probing or testing vulnerabilities, or scraping the service.
- Reverse engineer the service, resell or redistribute it, or circumvent technical limits.
- Generate documents intended to mislead, harass or defame any person.
5. Your content and our intellectual property
You retain ownership of the information you enter. You grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the service to you. We own the service itself — including the software, templates, document structures and RightWords branding — and all intellectual property in it.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service and the documents you purchase for your own personal use within the plan you selected.
6. Accuracy of generated documents
Documents are generated from the information you provide, combined with approved templates and general information. You are responsible for checking your document carefully before sending it, for the accuracy of the facts you enter, and for how you use the document. General information we present (for example about time limits or processes) may change as the law changes and is not a substitute for advice on your specific circumstances.
7. Payment, subscriptions and refunds
Prices are shown in pounds sterling on our pricing page and at checkout. Single documents are one-off purchases; RightWords Unlimited is a subscription that renews automatically at the end of each paid period (monthly, every 2 months, or every 3 months, depending on the plan you choose) until cancelled.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, taxes, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms together with our Refund Policy. You can cancel a subscription at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and no further payments are taken.
8. Service availability
We work hard to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance, and we may suspend the service for maintenance or reasons beyond our reasonable control.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, present a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate these terms. If your access ends, your right to use the service ends immediately; where reasonably practicable we will give you an opportunity to download your documents before deletion.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or special damages — including loss of profits, data or goodwill — arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability to you is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. General
You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the business. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own part of the UK.
